Learning analytics can be described as "collecting, analyzing, and reporting data about learners. This data can be used to help teachers makes decisions based on the data that they get on students. Data is collected on the student's use and it identify students who may have special needs. The system can tell the teacher whether or not the student is in need of more help with assigned work. Learning analytics help teachers with the learning environment and it helps to tailor the instruction that the instructor provides for their students.

As a teacher, I will use surveys to help my students and their families. For example, I could use a survey to learn the reading interests of my students. I could use surveys to get feedback from my students and their parents about their experience in my classroom. Surveys can also be used to teach students lessons. For example, I could use a survey to teach students about voting in America. Topics that I found most interesting when viewing my classmates' blogs were that we shared some of the same areas that we thought we could improve upon. For example, some of my classmates were inexperienced with inserting hyperlinks in PowerPoint as I was. I also learned that technology makes sharing among educators easier and presenting lessons for students easier. The Flipped Classroom is a resource that teachers can use to help with saving time while presenting content to students. This instructional design allows teachers to flip the learning and utilize classroom time for guided practice and cooperative learning. The learning takes place outside of the traditional classroom for students. The flipped classroom allows the teacher to create videos that are accessible to students so that other activities can be explored during classroom time. Open educational resources are free and accessible to help with teaching, learning, assessments, and research. These resources are open and accessible media, text, and other licensed educational content that a teacher may want to use.
