The ELA technology standards that I feel most prepared to teach with my existing knowledge include proper use of the internet for research, use of online databases, and preparing documents or files.  I am comfortable with these tasks and could would be prepared to teach them.    I would need more assistance with online video presentations and media presentations.  These tasks are the ones I would need more practice with before teaching them to students.

One of the resources available in the CPALMS Educator Toolkit that was interesting were the virtual manipulatives.  These are a great resource to add to any lessons so that students are engaged in the lesson.  Virtual manipulatives give students the opportunity to participate in hands on practice and promotes student engagement.  I would use these in my classroom so that students get a deeper understanding of the lesson and so that hands on learning can occur.  Virtual manipulatives will make learning.

The newsletter that I designed helped me to acquire skills to complete a Newsletter using Microsoft Word.  This helped me learn how to insert columns, text, and graphics within a document.  The assignment was tedious because I had to make sure that my graphics and text were not too overwhelming and use colors that were pleasing to the eye.  An inviting appearance will gain the interest of the students and the parents.  I can improve on my spacing because I felt my content was somewhat jumbled and maybe I was crowding too many features in one page.  The newsletter assignment was helpful because creating a newsletter for parents and students can be helpful for relationship building.
